I have always loved to curl up on a couch or in my bed with a good book. When I was younger, I devoured series of books like The Babysitter's Club and Sweet Valley High. As I got older, I began reading more stand alone books. I developed a love for the classics like Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. My love of reading eventually led me to become an English major and subsequently a high school English teacher. I became engrossed in reading new books by authors such as Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult. I always pre-order novels by Kristin Hannah and Elin Hilderbrand and lose myself in their worlds they create.
After reading 50 Shades of Grey, I became instantly hooked on the New Adult genre that has recently come out. I find myself now dabbling in that genre as well as contemporary fiction and novels set in WWII and Prohibition.
While I always rate my books on GoodReads, I don't always review them. I am hoping this blog will become an outlet for me to review books in an honest, open way. I also hope I can help others develop an affinity for reading and find new books to read based on my reviews.
